We are pleased to be online as our presence will enable us to help you by providing information about the cancer support group and how it can offer support, hope and friendship to all those afflicted with cancer, cancer survivors, their family members, co-workers, and friends.
With the theme “Love Heals Cancer,” the GAD Focal Point launched the cancer support group at the Professional Development Center (PDC) Auditorium on February 14, 2006.
The objectives of the project are to –
- promote awareness of the leading causes of women’s diseases specifically cancer and its prevention.
- provide assistance and support to those afflicted and to those who have survived.
To achieve these objectives, the sub-committee plans to implement the following activities for fiscal years 2006 to 2007:
- Holding of a cancer symposium preliminary to the establishment of a cancer support group in COA.
- Conduct of meetings for the establishment of a cancer support group.
- Roll out of the cancer forum in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Through these activities, the Sub-committee hopes to achieve the following:
- Increased awareness of the cause, cure and prevention of cancer.
- Cancer symposium held in the COA Central Office.
- Assistance given to cancer patients in COA and strengthened morale of cancer survivors.
